Itinerary


Day 1

Arrival in Luang Prabang at the end of the morning. Welcoming by the guide and transfer to the hotel. Lunch and rest time. A traditional Lao massage is offered in the afternoon. Diner in town in the heart of Luang Prabang nightlife.

Day 2

Early wake up to attend the bonzes offering ceremony. Return to the hotel for breakfast via the morning market. Visiting the main points of interest of the city (the national museum, the vat Xieng mouane, the heritage house, the museum of ethnology) by tuk tuk (typical local transport). Sunset at vat prabat Tai and why not, game of pétanque with the Laotians who love it! Dinner in a restaurant with ethnic fashion show. Free time at the very pleasant night market.

Day 3

Relax at the magnificent Kuang Si Falls, with its multiple natural pools. Swimming possible. Stops on the way in the Hmong village and the Khamu village. Lunch at the Ock pop Tok weaving center, dedicated to the preservation of traditional and natural textile techniques. Natural dyeing workshop in the center. Sunset over the Mekong. Dinner at the restaurant of traditional specialties.

Day 4

Cruise on the Mekong river visiting the famous pak caves or home of hundreds of Buddha statuettes. Other stops to explore villages, one of which specializes in the production of rice alcohol. Lunch at the restaurant, then visit of the vat Xieng Thong, the most majestic and oldest temple in the city. Climbing to Mount Phousy to admire the view of the city and the Mekong. Dinner in a pleasant restaurant.

Day 5

Breakfast and departure for Vang Vieng. The trip is a bit long but punctuated by several stops and beautiful karst landscapes. Lunch at Phou Fiengfa in a restaurant which offers a magnificent panoramic view.

Arrival in Vang Vieng. Dugout canoes wait to descend the Nam Song River at sunset over the limestone reliefs. Arrivel to the hotel. Dinner and free evening.

Day 6

Visit of the Vang Vieng region famous for its karstic reliefs and caves.
After we will go to the organic farm of Phou Din Daeng which aims at responsible, organic farming as well as at perpetuating various traditional market gardening and goat breeding techniques. Lunch on site.

Swimming in the “blue lagoon”, resurgence at the foot of the Phou Kham caves. Free end of the day, dinner, overnight stay.

Day 7

Road to Vientiane with a stop along the way at the Vang Sang caves where some bas-reliefs have been carved (about 3 hours of road without stops).

Arrival in Vientiane and to the hotel. Rest of the day free in Vientiane. Dinner and free evening.

Day 8

Vientiane. Full day of discoverying the city: its main monuments including the Ho Phra Keo temples and the Wat Si Sakek, the Patuxai, the That Luang. A stroll through quiet alleys rarely visited by tourists to meet local artisans and the daily life of the inhabitants. Lunch in a restaurant which trains street children in cooking skills. Walk to the park of Chao Anouvong at the end of the day. Tour of the Vientiane night market. Dinner at the restaurant, a hidden address in the heart of Vientiane!

Day 9

Morning flight to Pakse. Welcoming by the guide followed by lunch. Drive to the bolaven plateau to discover magnificent waterfalls which are numerous in the region, as well as a coffee plantation. Coffee from Laos is very famous. Direction Champassak to the south for dinner and overnight.

Day 10

Visit of the pre-Angkorian temple of Vat Phou as well as the city of Champasak where many buildings from the French period remain. Lunch, then we continue south (2h). On the way stop at the temple of uomo older than Wat phou, at the village of Ban Nong bune famous for its woodcarvings, and at the village of Ban Houay Keua where there are many craftsmen who work with bamboo.

Boarding a pirogue to reach Don Khone Island. Arriving to the rooms and end of the day free to discover the charming little island in the middle of the Mekong.

Day 11

Easy bike ride for a pleasant discovery and a peaceful immersion in meeting the inhabitants of the island. In the afternoon, visit of the impressive Li Phi Falls, where you can observe different fishing techniques that are sometimes perilous. Dinner and free evening to relax.

Day 12

Return to the main land and stop at the Khone Phapheng Falls, which are considered to be the most important in Southeast Asia. After it will be the time to reach Pakse by road. Lunch, and transit to Ubon Ratchatani airport in Thailand for the flight to Bangkok followed by the return international flight.

Itinerary


Day 1

Arrival at Phnom Penh Airport. Pick up and transfer to hotel. Break.
Depending on the time of arrival, visit Phnom Penh focused mainly on the architecture of the city and / or mini cruise to the island of silk, walking in the island and return to town at sunset.
In the evening, enjoy a show of Cambodian classical dances in the garden of the National Museum.
Dinner and overnight.

Day 2

Visit the tranquil capital city at the edge of the three branches of the Mekong River: the monument of independence, Wat Phnom (the city’s founding place).
A short rickshaw tour to the national museum.
Then visit the Royal Palace, and finally visite the central market where moult discoveries will be at the rendezvous.
Sunset and dinner on the boat “Phocea”. Overnight at hotel in Phnom Penh.

Day 3

Phnom penh – Chambok.
Homestay immersion where you will share a moment in the life of a Cambodian family in the countryside.
The women will introduce you to local crafts, you will discover the transport in ox cart. Swimming at the nearby waterfall.
Very simple accommodation conditions for the night.

Day 4

Last morning in your host family before returning to Phnom Penh.
End of the day free. Dinner, overnight.

Day 5

Departure for Battambang with stops en route.
First stop at the busy little port of Kompong Cham.
Then visit the pottery village of Udom Russei which provides the whole country.
Finally, first meeting with the big Tonle Sap Lake with the visit of the huge lake village of Kompong Luong.
Boat trip and continuation to Battambang.
Arrival late afternoon. Dinner and free evening. Overnight.

Day 6

Battambang. Visit the city and its surroundings including some pagodas of particular architecture: Wat Kandal and Wat Sangker, the surrounding of the town hall where are located beautiful old buildings dating from the colonial era.
Experience bamboo train, a picturesque means of transportation destined to disappear when the new railway line is finished.
In season, stop at the market towns of Wat Kor and Kampong Seuma.
Finally, visit the Circus School of Battambang, a beautiful project for children from families in difficulty and may be attending their show at night (available some days of the week only). Dinner and overnight.

Day 7

Battambang – Siem Reap. Long cruise of 6 hours by local boat when the water level is sufficient. Observation of lake life during navigation … unforgettable.
Or 4 hours by road (in dry season) with stop at the silk village of Phnom Srok and at the bird sanctuary of Tropaingmor.
End of free day in Siem Reap. Dinner and overnight.

Day 8

Temples of Angkor.
Visit that begins with the Baphuon whose restoration has just been completed, then the Bayon with its 54 laps and 200 faces with enigmatic smile.
You will also see the temples of Phimeanakas, Neak Poann and its beautiful basins adorned with naga, the terraces of elephants and the leper king …
Overnight in Siem Reap.

Day 9

Temples of Angkor.
This morning you will reach the long-awaited Angkor Wat (possibility of an early morning sunrise), then the Ta phrom, famous for its entanglements of Banyan roots.
Then Bantey Srei, a temple of pink sandstone very finely adorned: it represents the classic Cambodian art at its peak. Finally stop at Ban Kep tey Samré.
Dinner with a show of traditional Apsara dances. Overnight in Siem Reap.

Day 10

Siem Reap. Visit the city and its main points of interest including the Wat Bo pagoda, the small botanical garden of Scents of Angkor where all the aromatic plants of Cambodia are cultivated. You will see the manufacture of soap and natural dyes.
After lunch depart for the lakeside village of Mey Chrey.
Mini cruise of about 2 hours, you will take a flat-bottomed boat for a ride in the mangrove … Overnight at hotel in Siem Reap.

Day 11

Siem Reap. To complete your knowledge of the country, we offer a cooking class.
You will leave in the morning by Tuk tuk to meet the “chef” and go with him to the local market.
In his company you will make the necessary purchases for the preparation of lunch. The cooking class will occupy all morning.
Lunch of your preparations! Then, it will be time to take the road back to Phnom Penh.

Day 12

Free time until airport transfer for the your international flight home.

Itinerary


Day 1

Phnom Penh arrival, pick-up at airport and transfer to the hotel.

Visit the calm capital located at the confluence of the three branches of the Mekong River: the monument of independence, Wat Phnom (the city’s founding place). A little ride in a rickshaw to the national museum.

Then visit of the Royal Palace, of a school of traditional dances and finally the central market where multiple discoveries will be waiting for you!

Day 2

Phnom Penh. Free morning to finish your visit of the capital on your own. Tuk tuk is available.

In the afternoon transfer to the pier to take a boat to the island of silk, walk on the island before taking the boat back to Phnom Penh at sunset. Overnight in Phnom Penh.

Day 3

Phnom penh – kep. Head south through Kampot, a pleasant little town with lovely examples of traditional architecture.

Stop at the Teuk chou reserve where you will meet some of the wild animals living in Cambodia.

Continuation to Kep, dinner and overnight.

Day 4

Kep. Exploration day of the region with the village of Chamcar Bei, its weavings, its plastic recycling factory.

Visit and lunch in one of the most beautiful coffee plantations of the region with a beautiful view.

Exploration of the countryside strewn with rocks offering very pretty landscapes.

Visit one of the many caves.

Sunset over the surroundings. Dinner and overnight.

Day 5

Kep – Tataï. Road to the Cardamom massif, a protected nature reserve still very little visited by tourists.

It is the ideal playground for beautiful ecotourism adventures: boat trip, trek in the surrounding forest …

Accommodation in an ecolodge or homestay within the community development project of Chipat (in this case: bike ride, trek in the forest, swimming in waterfalls, discovery of community projects). To be chosen.

Day 6

Discovery day in Tataï in an ecolodge or in Chipat within the village depending on the option chosen.

Dinner and overnight.

Day 7

It will be the longest trip of the stay (370kms) about 8 hours with stop for lunch …

Overnight in Kampong Chhnang in a local guest house (regardless of the accommodation category chosen).

Day 8

Departure for Battambang with stages along the way. First stop at the bustling little port of Kompong Chhnang.

Then, visit the potters’ village of Udom Russei which supplies the whole country.

Finally, first encounter with the large Tonle Sap lake with a visit to the huge floating village of Kompong Luong. Boat trip and continuation to Battambang.

Arrival at the end of the afternoon. Dinner and free evening. Overnight.

Day 9

Battambang. Visit of the city and its surroundings including a few pagodas with particular architecture: Wat Kandal and Wat Sangker, the town hall area where there are beautiful old buildings dating from the colonial era.

Getaway by bamboo train, a scenic means of transport destined to disappear when the new railway line is completed.

During the season, stop at the vegetable market villages of Wat Kor and Kampong Seuma.

Day 10

Battambang – Siem Reap.

Long cruise of 6 hours by local boat when the water level is sufficient. Observation of lake life during navigation… unforgettable.

Or a 4-hour journey by road (in the dry season) with a stop at the village of Phnom Srok where silk is woven, and at the avian reserve of Tropaingmor.

Free end of the day in Siem Reap. Dinner and overnight.

Introductory tour of the Burmese capital: downtown, Mahabandoola Park, City Hall with colonial architecture.Then Sule pagoda and Botataung pagoda.
You will visit the impressive and magnificent Shwedagon Pagoda at sunset.

Day 2

Kyaikhtiyo, the golden rock.
A 4-hour drive will take you there with some stops on the way: at Kyaikpun’s morning market and then at the huge Shwetharlyaung Buddha dating back to the 11th century.
Craft workshops and the central market of Bago, then visit several pagodas.
An hour’s drive will be required to reach the Golden Rock perched on the mountain.
Final access on foot, at sunset, fabulous.
Dinner and overnight in Kyaikhtiyo.

Day 3

Road trip back to Yangoon.
End of the day, free time on your own. Dinner and overnight in Yangoon.

Day 4

Flight west toward Sittwe, capital of Arakan state, an important maritime and commercial city. Visit the cultural museum, a Buddhist monastery with a magnificent collection of ancient objects from the region.
Visit the famous pagoda “Pyilone-Chan-Ta”.
City tour in the evening and Sunset at “viewpoint”. Overnight.

Day 5

From Sittwe, cruising the Kaladan River to the ancient Arakanese capital of Mrauk U surrounded by green hills.
On the way, stop at the village Mro or Kharnee (Rakhine minority) to discover their way of life.Overnight at Mrauk U.

Day 6

Mrauk U: Visit the archaeological site, its remains and unusual temples of the sixteenth century.Sunset from the hill overlooking the city. Overnight in Mrauk U.

Day 7

Time on the market of Mrauk U, then return by boat to Sittwe.
Airport transfer and flight back to Yangon. Overnight at hotel in Yangoon.

Day 8

Inle Lake. Airport transfer and flight to Heho.
On the way to the lake, stop at the monastery of Shwe Yan Pyay entirely built in teak wood.
Wine tasting and lunch at the “vineyard of the Red mountain”.
Then embark on the lake for a first discovery.
Dinner and overnight in Inle.

Day 9

Visit one of the lake’s markets before heading to Indein at the west of the lake.
The boat takes you through a long canal where you can watch the women cultivate their products, and then you will continue to the set of hidden temples of Indein, consisting of hundreds of little stupas.
Walk through the rice fields to the village of Sae Ma.
Meeting with the villagers, and observation of the monastic activities.
Return by boat and overnight in Inle.

Day 10

Boat trip on Inle Lake to see leg rowers, typical farms and floating gardens, local fishing methods and village life.
Then visit the Inpawkhon weaving village, jumping cats Monastery, Phaung Daw Oo Pagoda, the most sacred religious site in the Southern Shan State.
Flight to Mandalay in the afternoon. Installation at the hotel, dinner, overnight.

Day 11

In the morning visit Amarapura, ancient royal capital founded before Mandalay.
You will attend the morning alms of the monks then you will discover the teak bridge of U-bein built 2 centuries ago on Taungtaman Lake.
Visit then weaving workshops (traditional silk and cotton).
Horse cart ride to Inwa, former royal capital.
In Mandalay, visit the statue of Buddha Mahamuni, the most venerated in the country, covered with gold leaf. It will also be an opportunity to discover the hammering of gold leaf, as well as the molding of bronze, the sculpture of marble, wood and the manufacture of traditional puppets.
You will continue to the Shwenandaw Kyaung Monastery, a finely carved wooden building and Kuthodaw Pagoda with its 729 marble plaques engraved with Buddhist scriptures.
Finally, sunset from Mandalay Hill where you will have a panoramic view. Dinner and overnight in Mandalay.

Day 12

Early morning, express boat to Bagan …
You will spend the day over the Irrawady watching rural life along and on the river.
Evening and overnight in Bagan.

Day 13

Bagan. Beginning of the day with the colorful market of Nyaung U, Shwezigon pagoda and its magnificent golden stupa.
Discover Bagan and its temples all day.
In the afternoon, visit a village specialized in lacquering objects.
Sunset on the site from the upper terrace of Shwesandaw Pagoda.
Overnight in Bagan.

Day 14

Visit Salay where is located the yoke monastery with its exceptional wood carvings.
Then, you will go to Mount Popa, extinct volcano with its sanctuaries dedicated to animist spirits. The most dynamic will climb the 777 steps leading to the sanctuary at the top of the volcanic cone.
Return to Bagan, stop en route to observe the extraction of the palm juice and its transformation into sugar.
Overnight in Bagan.

Day 15

Morning flight to Yangon.
Transfer to the hotel for refreshment, then free time at the Scott Market for some souvenir shopping.
Airport transfer and international flight home.

Then embark on the lake for a first discovery.
Dinner and overnight in Inle.

Day 5

You will attend the morning alms of the monks then you will discover the teak bridge of U-bein built 2 centuries ago on Taungtaman Lake.
Visit then weaving workshops (traditional silk and cotton).
Horse cart ride to Inwa, former royal capital.
In Mandalay, visit the statue of Buddha Mahamuni, the most venerated in the country, covered with gold leaf. It will also be an opportunity to discover the hammering of gold leaf, as well as the molding of bronze, the sculpture of marble, wood and the manufacture of traditional puppets.
You will continue to the Shwenandaw Kyaung Monastery, a finely carved wooden building and Kuthodaw Pagoda with its 729 marble plaques engraved with Buddhist scriptures.
Finally, sunset from Mandalay Hill where you will have a panoramic view.
Dinner and overnight in Mandalay.

Day 8

Road to Sagaing, the spiritual center of the country.
Hundreds of stupas, monasteries, temples and convents can be found in Sagaing Hill, sometimes known as living Bagan. Thousands of monks and nuns retire for meditation and contemplation. Stop at some of the temples.
Then continue to Monywa through a rural landscape.
Arrival in Monywa, short rest and transfer to the pier to cross the river Chind-Win by local boat.
Visit of a set of sandstone caves.

Day 9

Transfer day to Bagan with a visit to Thanboddhay Pagoda listing more than half a million Buddhist images.

Followed Bodhitataung pagoda with its immense and innumerable Buddhas. Two sites out of the ordinary …
Continue to Pakokku, famous for the tobacco trade.
Tour the market before continuing to the ruins of Phakangyi.
Transfer to Bagan by local ferry with approximately 3 hours cruise.
Check in before sunset, dinner and overnight.
Dinner and overnight in Monywa.

Day 10

Bagan. Beginning of the day with the colorful market of Nyaung U, Shwezigon pagoda and its magnificent golden stupa.
Discover Bagan and its temples all day.
In the afternoon, visit a village specialized in lacquering objects.
Sunset on the site from the upper terrace of Shwesandaw Pagoda.
Overnight in Bagan.

Day 11

Visit Salay where is located the Yoke Monastery with its exceptional wood carvings.
Then, you will go to Mount Popa, extinct volcano with its sanctuaries dedicated to animist spirits. The most dynamic will climb the 777 steps leading to the sanctuary at the top of the volcanic cone.
Return to Bagan, stop en route to observe the extraction of the palm juice and its transformation into sugar.
Overnight in Bagan.

Day 12

Morning flight to Yangoon.
Transfer to the hotel for refreshment, then free time at the Scott Market for some souvenir shopping.
Transfer back to Yangoon airport for your international flight home.

An unusual experience at a local homestay to participate in daily and agricultural activities

Duration

1 to 3 days and more

  • In a family in northern Vietnam, preferably in the farming season (transplanting or harvesting rice) for a real immersion in rural life with a family.
  • Participation in fields working and daily activities of the host family to touch the way of life and the rural culture of Vietnam.
  • Our friends from the mountain ethnic minorities offer their hospitality for warm moments of sharing and exchange.
Homestay accommodation is in large houses on stilts, on small mattresses on the ground equipped with mosquito nets. Outside the house, basic sanitary but sufficient to take a shower, mostly with hot water.
Meals are taken with the family and the guide. We will propose a village and a family or several host families according to the overall program of stay and the size of the group.

Please take note that this immersion experience is ideal from February to November (month corresponding to harvesting, transplanting rice or planting maize depending on the region). Outside this period, a day can still be proposed to participate in daily activities (cooking, animal care, and various activities such as weaving, basketry, fishing depending on the specificities of each village).

Day 1

Arrival in Hanoi. Walk to Hoan Kiem lake. The old town by pedicab.

Day 2

Ancient village of Duong Lam with traditional architecture. Lunch in an old house and then exploring the surrounding temples by bicycle through the countryside.

Day 3

Hanoi. West Lake with a visit to Tran Quoc Pagoda (the oldest in Hanoi). Ho Chi Minh’s house on stilts, the grounds of the Presidential Palace, the One Pillar Pagoda, the Temple of Literature. Vietnamese traditional art water puppet show. Night train to Lao Cai.

Day 4

Beautiful mountain road to reach Sapa. Breakfast, visit of the market and the city. In the afternoon, stroll in the middle of the rice fields towards the village of Red Dao of Ta Phin which offers beautiful panoramas. Meeting with the villagers. Evening in Sapa and overnight at the hotel.

Day 5

Surroundings of Sapa. Day hike through the ethnic villages of the Hmong and the Giay in y Linh Ho and Lao Chai using little-used trails. The landscapes of this valley are exceptional. Picnic and continuation to the village of Ta Van. Accomodation with a giay family. Swimming in the river possible! Dinner and overnight stay with the locals.

Day 6

End of the hike through the bamboo forest of Giang Ta Chai among the Red Dao. Break near a waterfall. Return to Sapa for lunch, free time to stroll around town. Then drive to Bac Ha with a stopover in Lao Cai at the Sino-Vietnamese border. Arrival in Bac Ha, accommodation with local Tay in a house on stilts. Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 7

Morning at the large weekly Bac Ha market where all the surrounding villages meet. We meet colorful Hmong, Tay, Fula, Nung, Dao who trade here, dressed in their beautiful traditional costumes. A colorful moment full of observations! Lunch with the locals and walk in the village of Ban Pho. Night train back to Hanoi.

Day 8

Trip to Tam Coc, Halong Bay “land”. Bike and boat ride in the middle of rice fields and rocky peaks … Airport transfer and flight to Hue. Transfer to the hotel. Dinner and overnight in a simple and warm family pension.

Day 9

Charming cruise in Halong Bay. The mythical dragon bay and its thousands of islets …! Thien Canh Son island, swimming, sea kayaking. Delicious lunch and dinner of seafood. Friendly evening on board and night in a comfortable cabin.

Day 12

Different view at Hue by bike. You will discover the quiet streets of the city to the surrounding countryside which conceal some unusual places unknown to travelers.
Lunch in a “house-garden” restaurant and visiting the neighborhood where many old garden houses are and we can find the true soul of the Hue city! In the evening, traditional music on the Perfume River, drop of lanterns on the river … magic!

Day 13

“Mandarin Road” southwards via the Cloud Pass offering beautiful views at the sea. Classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1999, Hoi An is a testament to the ancient architecture that could be found in Vietnam in the past. Arrival in Hoi An, check in at the hotel. Free time to stroll in the charming city center. Dinner in town and free evening, overnight stay.

Day 14

Visit of the remains of My Son, ancient kingdom of Champa (6th – 13th century). Boarding for a beautiful cruise on a traditional boat. Herbal foot massage, followed by a cooking class on board while enjoying the view and the setting … You will have lunch prepared on the board. End of the afternoon free. Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 15

Visit of the old historic center of Hoi An including the Japanese bridge, the Tan Ky house museum, and the Chinese temple of Phuc Kien. Tour of the picturesque market, visit of an artisanal center for silk and embroidery. In the afternoon, bike ride to discover a pretty market gardening village. dinner and evening free, overnight stay.

Day 16

Flight to Ho Chi Minh City. Lunch and visit of Cho Lon’s Chinatown with its small pagodas, its market, its herbalist shops … Free dinner. Overnight stay.

Day 17

Mekong Delta. Way to Cai Be, crossing the floating market to reach the lodge. First observation of the boats which trade. Several activities will be offered: fishing with the locals, bike rides, cooking or vegetable carving lessons. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Day 18

Lovely cruise aboard Cochinchina for a bucolic cruise to Can Tho. The landscape and daily life along the river passes by … A walk through the villages near Vinh Long: orchards and lush vegetation. Sunset from the boat, dinner and overnight stay on board in a comfortable cabin.

Day 19

The day begins in the middle of the floating market of Tra On before joining Can Tho and the large floating market of Cai Rang. You will go by sampan through the surrounding canals. Disembarkation around 11:00 AM and returning to Saigon. Arriving to the hotel and then free time. Dinner and overnight.

Day 20

Visit of the Cu Chi tunnels, an incredible historical testimony to the organization of the Viet Cong army. Very informative and uplifting! Then visit the holy seat of the Caodaist church in Tay Ninh to discover this astonishing religious syncretism. Free evening in Saigon. Overnight stay.

Day 21

Visit of Saigon: Notre Dame Cathedral, the Eiffel-style central post office, the facades of the Town Hall and the Municipal Theater, a lacquer factory, the war memorabilia museum. The Chinatown of Cho Lon with its temples where the locals express their fervor, its bustling markets, its traditional herbalists and the Redemptorist cathedral. Transfer to the airport and return international flight.

Itinerary


Day 1

Hanoi. Home. Visit of the old town, Hoan Kiem lake, the temple of literature. Traditional puppet show on water. Dinner and overnight.

Day 2

Unusual and alternative discovery of Hanoi by bike. You discover the city of the Hanoians outside the tourist axes. From the Long Bien bridge & the Red River nurseries to the pleasant district and temples of West Lake… Most of the time you will be pedaling on secondary roads with little traffic. Lunch with local specialties. Free time at the end of the day to stroll through the 36 streets of corporations, where many trades come together.

Day 3

Trip to the southwest of Hanoi. Stay in a guest house with bike ride in the countryside of the Red River Delta. Visit of the ancient architecture village of Duong Lam. Strolling through its narrow alleys around century-old houses really gives the impression of stepping back in time… Traditional foot massage and initiation into ancestor worship with your host family.

Day 4

Initiation to Tai Chi in the morning before hitting the road to Nghia Lo. Visit of a tea plantation before arrival in the afternoon. Accommodation in a homestay in a village of the black Thai minority. Walk in the village to discover the way of life of the inhabitants. Dinner and overnight with the locals. Simple comfort

Day 5

Hiking day. Departure for the magnificent Tram Tau valley through beautiful rice terraces and villages of black Thai and green Hmong. Easy 4-5h walk. Night in a standard guesthouse.

Day 6

Continuation of the exploration of this magnificent region towards Mu Cang Chai where undoubtedly the most beautiful rice terraces of the country are located. You will make another hike of 2 hours in the middle of rice fields and ethnic villages. Dinner and overnight with a Thai resident in a beautiful house on stilts.

Day 7

Trip to the west and Lai Chau. The small valleys along the trail are populated by the White Thai and especially the Hmong. As we approach Lai Chau, we meet the black Dzao, the Lu whose teeth are lacquered in black. Then we will climb a pass at 2000m altitude to reach Sapa where we will arrive around noon. Magnificent landscapes on the way. Short hike in the Sapa valley, then free end of the day to stroll in the charming town appreciated for its fresher air.

Day 8

Road to Bac Ha. On Sundays you can discover the weekly market there. All the minorities of the region flock there to trade, dressed in their magnificent traditional hand-embroidered costumes… In the afternoon, a lovely walk in the village of the Red Hmong and the Tay. Dinner and overnight at the local Tay’s.

Day 9

Departure for the region of Ha Giang by a beautiful road. Walk among the Tay and the Pa Then along the way. End of the day at the Tay’s where we will spend the night with the locals.

Day 10

Day hike in Ha Giang in an area dotted with rice terraces and palm trees. We climb regularly to discover a beautiful view of the Cao Bo valley, where the landscape is magnificent. Picnic lunch then descent to join our vehicle. Dinner and overnight with the local Tay.

Day 11

Scenic drive to Dong Van. Turn after turn, the landscapes of this region are opening to you. This region is part of the Geoparks classified by Unesco, with its characteristic relief dotted with black rocks between which the Hmong manage to cultivate corn in incredible conditions, on sometimes vertiginous slopes… Stop at the white Hmong who weave raw flax. Continuation to Dong Van, stop to visit King Hmong Palace. Arrival in the small town of Dong Van, walk in the old town to visit the old houses with adobe walls. Dinner in a local restaurant and overnight at the hotel.

Day 12

Road to Meo Vac via the Ma Pi Leng pass after which you will discover breathtaking views. On Sundays, a large weekly market bringing together the populations of the surrounding villages is held in Meo Vac and Dong Van. The women then put on their finest costumes for the occasion … Lunch then drive to Bao Lac in the regions inhabited among others by the black Lolo. Arrival at Bao Lac in the late afternoon. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

Day 13

Early morning departure for the Ba Be Lake area. En route visit to a black Lolo village nestled in the mountains. Arrival at Pac Ngoi village on the shores of Ba Be lake, check in with our host family and exploring of the surroundings before sunset. A visit to this small village will allow you to get to know the unchanged way of life of this ethnic group for centuries. Overnight at a homestay in a Tay house on stilts by the lake.

Day 14

Peaceful cruise on the Nang River to Ba Be Lake to explore the national park. Stopovers at Puong Limestone Cave and Dau Dang Waterfall. Walk through the villages on the banks. We discover an authentic way of life made up of a little agriculture, breeding and fishing. Trip to Hanoi, arrival at the end of the afternoon. Free evening and night at the hotel.

Day 15

Charming cruise in Halong Bay. The mythical dragon bay and its thousands of islets …! Thien Canh Son island, swimming, sea kayaking. Delicious lunch and dinner of seafood. Friendly evening on board and night in a comfortable cabin.

Tam Coc, the terrestrial Halong Bay. Early in the morning, we embark on a small boat to discover the site, a set of limestone peaks planted in the middle of the rice fields… Another atmosphere, just magical… Road to Nho Quan, where we will sail peacefully by boat to the floating village of Kenh Ga located in the middle of a vast area flooded several months a year. Visitors are won over by the tranquility of the place, especially at sunset, as well as by the authenticity of the isolated life of the peasants. Overnight in Tam Coc.

Day 18

In the morning, we offer you a cooking class given by our host, in a friendly atmosphere. Lunch with your culinary preparations. Then a beautiful bike ride in the surrounding countryside, magnificent with its rice fields, rocky peaks and small temples nestled in the mountain. Return to Hanoi at the end of the day. Installation at your hotel in Hanoi.

Day 19

Free day before transfer to the airport. International return flight.

Bike ride in Huê and through the countryside to an old Japanese bridge. Visit of the imperial tombs of Tu Duc and Khai Dinh. Return to town. Walk in an old quarter where there are many garden houses where you can find the true soul of the city of Hue! Dinner and overnight.

Day 14

Lunch and drive to Hoi An via the Cloud Pass with beautiful panoramas on the way. Free afternoon to stroll around town. Dinner in town and free evening, night in a charming homestay.

Day 15

Visit of the old historic center of Hoi An including the Japanese bridge, the Tan Ky house museum, and the Chinese temple of Phuc Kien. Tour of the picturesque market, visit of an artisanal center for silk and embroidery. In the afternoon, bike ride to discover a pretty agricultural village and meet the peasants.

Day 16

Hoi An. Free day to enjoy the sea.

Day 17

Hoi An. Free time until airport transfer. Connection flight and international return flight.
